World Nature Conservation Day

World Nature Conservation Day is celebrated on July 28 across the world in order to raise awareness about protecting nature and conserving our natural resources. The day recognizes that a healthy environment is the foundation for a stable and productive society and to ensure the well-being of present and future generations, we all must participate to protect, conserve, and sustainably manage our natural resources.
Students of Grade VI made homemade bird feeders, which was a fun way for kids to get to know which birds are native to their area, and a great way to help out feathered friends when their food sources are scarce in winter-time.

This activity is a simple science exploration for spring (or anytime!) that kids will love!
